Halo House

Halo House

Glen Iris

Taking inspiration from the ‘halo effect,’ a biological term used to describe the thriving ecosystems surrounding icebergs in the Southern Antarctic Ocean; Halo House provides a sanctuary for its inhabitants, while allowing for increased activity in and around its perimeter. Designed by Breathe Architecture with landscape design by Eckersley Garden Architecture, the home was scaled to house a large family and a home business, with a focus on collective wellbeing.

Halo House also incorporates Breathe’s customary sustainable design, including a large solar PV array, electric heat pumps for hydronic heating and hot water, rain water tanks, as well as passive solar design features, operable shading and low impact material selections such as natural concrete, painted recycled brick and raw brass. All materials were locally sourced and environmentally sustainable where possible.

Halo House featured in Habitus Magazine in October 2018, and ArchitectureAU in October 2017.

They took total responsibility for the successful delivery of the project and thought through every detail proactively identifying and solving issues before they ever turned into problems. Fido added value every step of the way”

Tullamarine Office

Tullamarine Office

Tullamarine

For this contemporary office refurbishment in the outer Melbourne suburb of Tullamarine, we stripped back the existing interiors and installed new, high performance windows to create a new front façade. The space features a simple, sleek, and modern composition by Layan Design Group, with the central point being an organic communal table, built in white concrete.

Göteborg House

Göteborg House

Albert Park

The Göteborg House was a collaboration with Clare Cousins Architect. The existing single fronted Victorian terrace was completely stripped out & refitted with a Scandinavian interior. A coordinated blonde palette was complemented with black & bronzed fittings.

alice McCall – Emporium

alice McCall

Emporium, CBD

Our relationship with Studio Wonder and Australian designer Alice McCall led to our third consecutive project together—this time for a store inside Melbourne retail destination, Emporium. Responding to the evolution of the Alice McCall brand over the years, the space is graphic and minimal in nature, with our works involving custom brass racking, marble floors and marble point of sale, mirrored walls, and a frameless glass and ornate brass shop front.
